Damir Lukacevic completed his studies from 1993 to 1999 at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (dffb).
During his studies, he received several awards for his short films, including the German Federal Film Award in Gold for "FREMDE HEIMAT" and the rating "besonders wertvoll" for "SPIEL DES TAGES".
In 2003 he was awarded the Geneva-Europe script award and the ver.di television award for best director for his first feature film “HEIMKEHR”. The science fiction drama «TRANSFER» has been shown at over 30 international festivals and has won 8 awards, including the CIVIS TELEVISION AWARD 2014 in the entertainment (fiction) category.
